Victory for Vicky!
Victory for Vicky!
(Benidorm) No holiday in Benidorm is complete without a night out to see the most famous of all the Benidorm artists; Vicky Leyton aka Sticky Vicky. Her timeless act portrayed as a ‘sexy magic show’ has been the butt of many a gag but she’s still the most sort after star – especially after appearing the hit comedy series Benidorm as herself. But her personal life has been made hell in recent years since another entertainer registered her famous nickname and, posing as Vicky’s daughter used it to attract the crowds to a different attraction. But justice has finally been done; Vicky recently won her court battle and her rival was allegedly banned from using the name Sticky Vicky, much to Vicky and her equally famous daughter Demaria’s joy. Within days the signwritten car was no-longer and the huge banners were removed…… but their victory was short lived when some went back up as well as new banners bearing the name ‘Sticky Star’. “It’s frustrating and upsetting” daughter Demaria told Roundtown. “The judge ordered her to remove these confusing banners and she has laughed in the face of justice. Our battle continues but in the meantime we ask people to look out for our photos and names (see poster, left) which always appear where we are”. If you want to see the real ‘Sticky Vicky’, the duo perform every night across town starting at Exess at 10.30pm, the Rose & Crown at 11pm, Rockerfellas at half past midnight, Steptoes at 1.30am and Zodiac at 1.45am.
