Benidorm - left in the Dark?
(Benidorm) According to opposition party PP, Benidorm’s ’lecky’ bill is higher than ever. They recently announced that Benidorm Town Hall owes more than 2.5 million euros to electricity suppliers Iberdrola and that there is a serious risk of being cut off if they don’t pay a large chunk of the bill in the next month.
It won’t be the first Town Hall to be without power - there are many across Spain in these dark days of the recession having to work by torchlight (yes, really!) but a loss of public electricity here in Benidorm would also affect other public buildings like schools as well as street lighting - and that’s no laughing matter. "It’s not his image that is being damaged" said PP party leader in Benidorm and ex Mayor of the town Manuel Perez Fenoll "it is that of our great city!” We ask that Sr Navarro turn his attention urgently to the energy efficient plan he promised, before we are all left in the dark!" |
