Money exchange in Benidorm is available throughout the resort. Since most of the foreign visitors to Benidorm already use Euros, it’s only really the Brits who seek to exchange money here and there are three ways to go about it; you can draw money form the cash point, change it in the bank or use an exchange booth.
The ‘hole in the wall’ and bank options are generally considered the safest but you may get a poor rate – especially with your card. So people often seek a better rate at an exchange booth but beware of banners displaying an overly attractive rate – its often a scam and customers are handed back a much lower rate. When you question it the cashier points to a tiny sign saying the attractive rate only applies if you change over a grand!
To avoid getting caught out, ask the cashier to WRITE DOWN the amount she will actually hand back to you in exchange for your money
